A study after Chen Hexi’s work, this painting portrays a monk peacefully chanting with prayer beads in hand. What captivated me most was the bold contrast between the richly saturated background — a vibrant clash of cobalt blue and warm orange — and the muted, calm presence of the figure. The juxtaposition is striking yet soothing, and painting it was a joyful exercise in color balance and emotional tone.
