The Nightingale and the Rose
Description:
Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s tale, this painting reimagines the nightingale’s final sacrifice as a deeply human act of creation. Beneath the moonlight and the silent witness of rose trees, she gives her lifeblood to bloom a single red rose — not for reward, but because she must. In this piece, I wanted to explore the inevitability and nobility of pouring one’s soul into a work, regardless of outcome.
